Coffee is a very versatile yet delicious product. Mostly prepared as a beverage but can be used in the preparation of meals, desserts, cakes and pastries to name a few. Here are 3 recipes that will keep you coming back for more.


Blended Coffee Smoothie

Ingredients: 1 cup brewed coffee (chilled) 3 tblsps vanilla lasco 3 tblsps creamy malt lasco 3 tblsps brown sugar 1 cup whole milk pinch of salt abt 3 cups ice cubes

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a large container, Stir well so all ingredients gets desolved. Add ice cubes to blender, then pour coffee mixture over ice. (There should be more ice than coffee mixture in blender) One can add or reduce ice for desired consistency. Pour blended mixture into glass and top with whipped cream if desired.
Recipe serves 2 - 3 persons.


Creamy Spiced Hot Coffee

Ingredients: 1 tblsp instant coffee 1 cup boiling hot water 1 1/2 tblsps condensed milk 1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp vanilla pinch of salt

Directions: First we need to brew the coffee. Add the coffee to a tea cup, pour hot water over coffee. Cover and let sit for 2 mins. Add pinch of salt (just a pinch) Add condensed milk, nutmeg and vanilla, stir and enjoy. Condensed milk can be substituted for your choice of whole or 1% milk. just add a tblsp of brown sugar to sweeten.


Coffee Dusted Roast Chicken

Ingredients: 1 small chicken - cut in half (about 3lbs) 1 tblsp instant coffee 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp chicken spice 1 tsp all purpose seasoning 1 tsp jerk seasoning 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions: Combine all powdered ingredients in a small bowl. Mix. Clean chicken by washing in vinegar and water. Place chicken in a large container and sprinkle on powdered mixture. Make sure its evenly distributed. Gently massage the mixture onto the chicken. Cover and refridgerate for 4 hrs - overnight. Place chicken halves into baking pan and bake uncovered for 1 hr @ 350. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for another 30 mins. Remove from over and serve with your choice of side dishes. Goes well with mashed potatoes and a salad or a rice dish with a salad. Enjoy!
